Sr. Kathleen was from Buttevant, Co. Cork where she was born on August
16th 1926. She was one of three children. She attended the Mercy Convent
School where she excelled academically. Having finished school she was
successful in the Civil Service Examinations and started working in
Customs and Excise in the Custom House. After several years working
there she entered the Holy Faith Congregation in October 1953. Just two
years ago she celebrated the Golden Jubilee of her Profession.
She spent some years in California teaching in our Schools in Los
Angeles. She was an avid reader and loved Poetry and Literature. When
she returned from the States she became Librarian in the Mater dei
Institute in Drumcondra, where she served for many years.
Art and Music were other interests she held dearly and in her latter
years she took up Calligraphy as a hobby and became quite proficient at
it.
Sr. Kathleen was blessed with a very friendly disposition and spoke to
all whom she came in contact with.
The Lord called her to Himself on Good Friday, March 21st 2008.
May she rest forever in the Peace of Christ.
